Golf is a sport that requires high standards of behaviour and sportsmanship, and relies heavily on honesty, integrity and self-regulation. We believe strongly that our participants should strive to set an example to their peers and should always show the utmost respect towards themselves, fellow participants, staff and the host clubs that they represent. Having qualified to participate is a privilege which comes with responsibility.
1. STANDARDS OF CONDUCT
1.1 Personal Behaviour
1.1.1 The abuse of alcohol is strictly prohibited.
1.1.2 Partaking in the use or distribution of drugs is strictly prohibited.
1.1.3 The use of offensive or abusive language is strictly prohibited.
1.1.4 Presenting oneself in a manner which may cause negative comment regarding personal presentation, the event or sponsors is not acceptable.
1.2 Equipment and Course Conduct
1.2.1 The throwing of clubs or the abuse of any golfing equipment is strictly prohibited.
1.2.2 Conduct which may offend the etiquette or the Rules of Golf will not be tolerated.
1.2.3 The standards of fair play, sportsmanship and the etiquette of golf must be maintained at all times.
1.3 Respect and Compliance
1.3.1 Participants must acknowledge diversity and respect other cultures and beliefs at all times.
1.3.2 Participants must acknowledge and adhere to the protocol of any sponsors.
1.3.3 Failure to enter your score within 24 hours after any event round will result in disqualification.
1.3.4 Any damage to property caused by a participant will be recovered from that participant.
2. LIMITATION OF ORGANISERS LIABILITY
Matchplay Golf SA Management will not be held accountable for any of the following:
2.1 Loss of personal items.
2.2 Injury or harm to self or others.
2.3 Any personal outstanding accounts or credits incurred while at the event.
2.4 Any medical or hospital bills and accounts.
2.5 Any fees incurred due to breakage, damage or loss of hotel, golf course or organiser equipment.
2.6 Any unlawful activities and the implications that follow.
2.7 Cancellation of travel for any reason.
2.8 Loss of baggage.
Participation in all Matchplay Golf SA events is entirely at the participant own risk.
3. SANCTIONS
3.1 A participant found guilty of any transgression under this Code of Conduct will be asked to leave the tournament immediately.
3.2 All costs incurred by the organisers arising from the transgression will be recovered from the transgressing participant.
3.3 Additional sanctions may be imposed at the discretion of the organisers.
4. PHOTOGRAPHS AND MEDIA
4.1 By entering the tournament, players grant the tournament organisers and all involved media parties the irrevocable right to photograph or video record them for all purposes including advertising and promotional purposes, without any further approval and without payment.
4.2 All photographs, motion pictures, video recordings and likenesses captured during the event become the sole property of the tournament organisers.
4.3 The tournament organisers may use recordings in any and all media, in perpetuity and without geographical limitation.
4.4 Players agree not to sue and hereby irrevocably release the tournament organisers from any and all related liabilities and claims.
5. ACCEPTANCE
By registering, or upon SA Final entry, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to abide by the Tournament Rules and this Code of Conduct.
