1. HOW THE PROGRAMME WORKS
Every registered player receives a unique personal referral code immediately after completing their registration. When a new entrant uses that code in the referral field at the time of registration, and subsequently completes payment, the referring player earns a 10% commission on that entry fee.
Commission rates:
• Individual player entry (R1 500) → R150 commission
• Full team entry (R2 800) → R280 commission
For a team entry of R2 800, the full R280 commission is awarded to the referral code of the first player in that pair whose code is on record — only one commission is paid per team payment.
2. ELIGIBILITY — THE REFERRER
To qualify for any commission payout, the referring player must:
• Be fully registered and have paid their own entry fee in full
• Remain an active participant in the tournament — withdrawal from the competition, for any reason, results in forfeiture of all unpaid commission
• Not have been disqualified or removed from the tournament for any reason
3. ELIGIBILITY — THE REFERRED PLAYER
Commission is only earned when the referred player:
• Enters the referral code at the time of registration — codes cannot be applied retrospectively after registration is completed
• Completes payment of their entry fee in full before the entry deadline of 1 August 2026
• Is a genuinely new entrant — the referred player may not already be registered or in the process of registering independently
4. WHAT DISQUALIFIES A COMMISSION
No commission will be paid in any of the following circumstances:
• The referrer has not paid their own entry fee
• The referrer withdraws from the competition before payout
• The referred player did not enter the referral code at the time of registration
• The referred player's payment is not received before entries close on 1 August 2026
• The referral is found to be fraudulent, collusive, or self-generated — a player may not use their own referral code
• The same referred player is claimed by more than one referral code — the first code entered at registration applies; subsequent claims are void
5. PROGRAMME CLOSING DATE
The referral commission programme closes on 1 August 2026, when entries close. No new referrals will be accepted after that date. Commission calculations will be finalised after this date and qualifying referrers will be contacted individually to confirm payout details.
6. PAYOUT — METHOD AND TIMING
Commission is paid after entries close on 1 August 2026. Matchplay Golf SA will contact qualifying referrers to confirm their preferred payout method. Available options are:
• Bank transfer to a nominated South African bank account
• Vouchers with a Matchplay Golf SA preferred partner (subject to availability at time of payout)
• Matchplay Golf SA branded merchandise or golf attire to the value of the commission earned
Payout method is selected at the time of payment — no retrospective changes once confirmed. Vouchers and merchandise have no cash equivalent and cannot be exchanged for a cash payout once chosen.
7. TAX AND LEGAL RESPONSIBILITY
Commission earned through this programme may constitute taxable income under South African Revenue Service (SARS) rules. Matchplay Golf SA accepts no responsibility for any tax liability arising from commission payments. It is the referrer's sole responsibility to declare any commission received in accordance with applicable tax law.
8. GENERAL CONDITIONS
• Matchplay Golf SA reserves the right to amend, suspend or terminate the referral commission programme at any time, with notice provided to affected participants where reasonably possible
• In the event of a dispute, Matchplay Golf SA's decision is final
• Participation in the commission programme does not create an employment, agency, or partnership relationship between the referrer and Matchplay Golf SA
• Commission is personal to the registered player and is non-transferable
